Known Bugs

If you find a bug, please contact me via Tech Support page or through any of the social websites linked below. These are the current items I know about, am working on, or have fixed, and should be corrected in the next update.

In v1.8.5

  • BUG: Capture - Some UVC/UAC USB devices (newer plug & play USB devices not requiring device drivers) and system combinations may lead to video and audio initialization issues. The video will be many minutes longer than you recorded, with a single video frame and no audio lasting for that extra amount of time, before the capture appears normal.
  • CAUSE: Capture device framerate set to "Best Available" trusts the timing data from the device. If the system receives bad timing data and trusts it as valid, it pads the first frame at 0 time until it matches the second frame at the bogus time. Then video and audio cadence continues correctly.
  • WORKAROUND: Do not set explicit framerates for the device, still use "Best Available" as your option in Step 2 of capturing. Load the video into Video Barbershop and clip the valid region at the end. If you clip the entire video, you'll see the area where the audio is located and can set the start time of the video to your cursor, advancing to the last of the duplicated first frames.
  • STATUS: A fix is being tested and this issue should be resolved in the next update.
